The Center of Surgical Excellence, owned and operated by two local, board-certified gastroenterologists accredited by the American Board of Gastroenterology, was envisioned in 2006 when Dr. Tariq J. Khan realized that growing family responsibilities called for a change. He moved from New Jersey, where he and his brother Dr. Jaffer J. Khan had practiced together since 1990, to SouthWest Florida to accept the role of Medical Director at Venice Regional Hospital. Shortly thereafter Dr. Jaffer J. Khan joined him and together they recognized that patients in Venice and the surrounding communities deserved a truly patient-centered gastroenterology practice with an advanced ambulatory surgical center designed to deliver a seamless GI experience, subsequently they founded the Gastroenterology Associates of Venice and Englewood.
